I had a super fun dinner catching up with old friends tonight! Outfit post to follow :)
Then I came home to study for a midterm tomorrow, blah, but on one of my breaks I came across on Belle Vivir this little tidbit!

Urban Outfitters is doing its first bridal line! Full of untraditional dresses and gorgeous pastels and muted florals. Or at least I think thats what it will look like since the "unveil" isn't until the 14th.

Clothing Renew

My first self made outfit post! Well maybe "self made" is a bit of a stretch... the title is more true to reality - I just altered an old dress to make it new again! Yay me!!

So I'll get moving right along then:

Step 1: use scissors to cut just above the elastic empire waist.

Step 2: you are now the proud owner of a black jersey skirt!

I actually first realised this is what I wanted to do with this old dress when Meagan from ...Love Meagan did the same with one of her dresses she wasnt quite happy with.

Obviously I am happy with my new skirt.

This is just an outfit I through together for the pictures but tonight I have a whole black and gold outfit planned for my house mate's birthday dinner!

Its a Blizzard!

Yesterday it snowed all day.
I'm not kidding, from when I woke up until well after I went to sleep it snowed big white flakes.

Yet some how when I woke up I could still get out my front door and the roads were practically clear... and I forgot to take a picture. Crazy city snow removal :P

I went to the mall to buy a birthday present for my housemate and came home with these for me!

To me it looks like a cheetah in the middle... but my friend thought it was a bee, I like my idea better hence the next shot with my cheetah sketch

Meeting Expectations

Wow, it is so easy to fall behind in posting, eh?!

Every now and then the bloggers I follow will write a post on how to write a really great blog. So far I am failing at two of the most important steps: posting original content and posting frequently.

Currently I only have my ancient (not in the cool vintage way) point and shoot digital camera and no way of transferring the files to my computer without an additional computer present. It makes posting original content challenging, which in turn makes me hesitate to post at all for fear of turning into someone who solely relies on other people's work for their material.

But I plan to reform my habits! Starting right now!!

Ever since moving into my new place last year I haven't been able to take a bath because the tub here has seen better days. If I was a real blogger I would probably share a picture, but since it scares even me to think about I will not be doing so. Lets just say I spent well over an hour scrubbing with a Magic Eraser and Ajax bleach cleaning powder until I felt it was good enough to shower in. Bubble baths are out of the question.

Oh well I was always more of a hot shower girl anyways. Check out some truly to die for bathrooms at the links provided below the pictures!

What a day!

Yesterday was one of those days man, one of those days where you drag yourself through the front door at 10 pm and crawl straight to bed. Thankfully not everything went wrong yesterday, I got my application for international exchange in on time!!!
And by on time I mean 30 minutes before the office closed. Wheeew!

Of course it is my own fault for putting off writing the five cover letters for each of the institutions I applied to for waaay too long. In all honesty this is kind of how I end up doing most things, but I am constantly trying to get better!

I also happened to miss a quiz yesterday morning trying to get everything else together on time. Thankfully my professor was kind enough to let me take with another section of the class this morning :D

I shall now have a coffee and watch some Gossip Girl.

Hey Check Her Out

Guess what guys?! Its time for my first outfit post! I know everyone is as terrified as I am.

What I've got on:
Urban Outfitters Top, got it with a Christmas gift certificate just a couple days ago and I am super happy with it :)
H&M Necklace, simple and vintagey feeling
Levis Jeans, they are a nice sturdy pair of pants that I have had for quite some time now
Urban Outfitters Hat, which I got on sale!

Now I want everyone to be aware: I do not consider myself a trend setter or an extremely fashion forward person. I would like to think I am well dressed, and on occasion I might take a risk or two, but in general I look like this. Jeans and a cute top are my staple, though I am trying to move towards skirts and tights it is still too freezing here to consider.

Also I am new to photo editing and am currently using Picnik. I realise that the photos don't all match exactly but I promise I will make an effort to improve my skills soon.

Thats all for now, hopefully this will become a more frequent occurrence around here!

Camel

It's Official...There is not enough Camel in my wardrobe.
When I say not enough I mean I can't think of a single thing. Except these Gap shorts I got for my birthday once that didnt fit so I looked like an old man. But not in the cute Grandpa sweater kind of way, in the knobby knees, protruding belly kind of way. With pulled up tennis socks.

Anyways I was checking out Le Fashion and she had a gorgeous collection of camel themed outfits from Madame Figaro Greece. You should check it out too.
